Open Gardens West Coast Inc. was established in August 2016.  It is a West Australian volunteer-based not for profit organisation run by a team of enthusiastic  volunteers – garden lovers, designers, horticulturists, garden owners and more.   Why not join in?

Part of the proceeds from the gate entry price to an Open Garden is usually donated by the Garden Owner to a charity of their choosing. We have been involved in raising tens of thousands of dollars for a wide variety of charities.

Profits from our activities also go towards developing and managing our annual program of events, administrative costs, and are donated to projects that fit within our aims as detailed in our constitution. We have a sub-committee that is dedicated to finding organisations suitable for our grants and donations.

We aim to

  • Arrange for a calendar of open gardens in Western Australia for public viewing
  • Promote the enjoyment and benefits of gardening and gardens
  • Encourage community engagement in gardening by promoting horticultural education, garden design, ecological sustainability and other activities
  • Cooperate with and participate in activities with other organisations which have similar objects
