Annie has chosen to open her water wise garden to raise funds for Sister Project.
Annie’s one acre water wise garden is inspired by plants and ideas from Kings Park while also having areas filled with exotic plants and is also designed to provide interesting and comfortable areas to play, relax and entertain. It is a very good example of the clever use of hard landscaping features that turn a slope into an interesting design advantage.
A central feature is a beautiful ‘Infinity pool’, with the blue contrasted on one side with a green lawn area and on the other with carefully selected native plants from Kings Park. There is also a cosy fire pit with extra large seating cushions for family gatherings.
There should be a riot of colours in the spring, with the addition of a generous sowing of everlasting daisies along the pathway that circles the garden.
As you walk around the garden you will spot sculptures and decorative pots carefully positioned to bring interest to the garden all year round. Interspersed in the beds are succulent plants, extending the shades of green as well as bringing their own splashes of flowering colour.
