The Lakehouse is Beverley’s best kept secret. It features a large lake beside which stands a fairy tale stone cottage. The property thrives from the abundance of water, feeding the nursery, lawns, gardens and ponds. A vibrant eco-system abounds with migratory birds and wildlife. The Lake is a naturally occurring 30 acre body of water fed by a sub-surface paleo channel. 20 meters below the surface lies a million-year-old aquifer producing pure water good enough to drink.
The owner’s love affair with daylilies and irises has led her to build Lakehouse Nursery that specialises in over 750 hybrid Daylilies and over 300 varieties of Tall Bearded Iris and Louisiana Iris. Named bare-root plants will be available to visitors on the weekend.
